PERBANDINGAN TERAPI LIDAH BUAYA (ALOEVERA) TOPIKAL DAN POT MARIGOLD (CALENDULA OFFICINALIS) TERHADAP RUAM POPOK PADA BAYI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS NEGERI BESAR KABUPATEN WAY KANAN TAHUN 2023
Abstrak
ABSTRACT
Diaper rash can be interpreted as a skin infection due to prolonged exposure to urine and
feces coupled with the pressure and friction of disposable diapers (diapers). Diaper rash is
still common in various parts of the world. Prevention of diaper rash can be done with
pharmacological therapy such as giving zinc oxide ointment (zincoxide) or corticosteroid
ointment. Another alternative that can be used to prevent or treat diaper rash is by
administering Aloe Vera and Calendula officinalis cream. The Working Area of the Negeri
Besar Public Health Center in Way Kanan Regency, for 245 babies, 36 of them had diaper
rash, as a comparison for the incidence of diaper rash. To know the comparison of topical
aloe vera (Aloevera) and pot marigold (Calendula Officinalis) therapy for diaper rash in
infants in the Work Area of the Negeri Besar Public Health Center, Way Kanan Regency
in 2023.
This type of quantitative research. Quasy experimental research design with nonequivalent
control group design approach. The population of all babies who use diapers is 30 babies
in January-February. The experimental research sample was a baby with diaper rash of 15
respondents per each group. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, the
study would be conducted from February to July 2023. Univariate and bivariate data
analysis used the man witney test.
The incidence of diaper rash in infants in the topical aloe vera (Aloevera) therapy group
with a mean value of 0.67 was in the no rash category. The incidence of diaper rash in
infants in the pot marigold (Calendula Officinalis) therapy group with a mean value of 1.67
was in the mild rash category. The statistical test results obtained a p-value of 0.004
(<α0.05), which means that there is a difference in topical aloe vera (Aloevera) and pot
marigold (Calendula Officinalis) therapy for diaper rash in infants in the Working Area of
the Negeri Besar Public Health Center, Way Kanan Regency in 2023. It is hoped that the
community or parents can add insight about the benefits of topical aloe vera (Aloevera) and
pot marigold (Calendula Officinalis) to minimize or prevent the occurrence of diaper rash
in babies and parents are able to apply it
