ABSTRAK
Latar belakang : Pendek merupakan suatu kondisi dimana balita memiliki panjang
atau tinggi badan yang kurang jika dibandingkan dengan umur. Data Puskesmas Palapa
pada tahun 2021 sebanyak 83 balita balita yang masuk dalam ketegori pendek. Faktor
penyebab pendek pada anak dapat disebabkan karena saat hamil ibu mengalami kurang gizi
selain itu pembeian ASI eksklusif yang gagal sedangkan ASI merupakan makanan utama
bayi. Data kejadian KEK di Puskesmas Palapa tahun 2021 sebesar 13,1% dan data ASI
esklusif di tahun 2021 sebesar 83,7%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah diketahui hubungan
riwayat ASI eksklusif dan status gizi ibu saat hamil dengan kejadian pendek pada bayi usia
7-12 bulan di Wilayah Kerja UPT Puskesmas Palapa Bandar Lampung Tahun 2023.
Metode Penelitian: Desain penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan crossectional.
Populasi seluruh balita usia 7-12 bulan berjumlah 115 bayi dengan sampel yang digunakan
sebanyak 90 bayi, pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Penelitian telah
dilaksanakan di Wilayah Kerja UPT Puskesmas Palapa Bandar Lampung bulan FebruariApril 2023. Pengumpulan data kuesioner dan lembar observasi. analisis data univariat dan
bivariat mengunakan chi Square.
Hasil Penelitian diketahui sebanyak 65 (72,2%) responden yang tidak pendek,
sebanyak 53 (58,9%) responden dengan kategori ASI tidak eksklusif, dan sebanyak 72
(80,0%) responden dengan status gizi normal. Ada hubungan riwayat ASI eksklusif (pvalue 0,006) dan status gizi ibu saat hamil (p-value = 0,000) dengan kejadian pendek pada
bayi usia 7-12 bulan di Wilayah Kerja UPT Puskesmas Palapa Bandar Lampung. Saran
agar pihak Puskesmas meningkatkan upaya promosi gizi ibu selama hamil dan pemberian
ASI eksklusif dengan menyebar leaflet.

ABSTRACT
Background: Shortness is a condition where toddlers have less length or height
compared to their age. According to data from the Palapa Health Center in 2021, there are
as many as 83 toddlers who fall into the short category. Factors causing shortness in
children can be caused by the fact that during pregnancy the mother experiences
malnutrition besides exclusive breastfeeding, which fails while breast milk is the baby's
main food. Data on the incidence of KEK at the Palapa Health Center in 2021 was 13.1%,
and exclusive breastfeeding data in 2021 was 83.7%. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding and nutritional status
of mothers during pregnancy and pendek in infants aged 7–12 months in the UPT
Puskesmas Palapa Bandar Lampung Working Area in 2023.
Research Method: Descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach The
population of all toddlers aged 7–12 months totaled 115 babies, with a sample of 90 babies
taken by purposive sampling. The research was carried out in the Work Area of UPT
Puskesmas Palapa Bandar Lampung in February–April 2023. Questionnaire data and
observation sheets were collected. univariate and bivariate data analysis using chi Square.
The research results revealed that 65 (72.2%) respondents were not short, 53 (58.9%)
respondents were in the category of non-exclusive breastfeeding, and 72 (80.0%)
respondents had normal nutritional status. There is a relationship between history of
exclusive breastfeeding (p-value 0.006) and nutritional status of mothers during pregnancy
(p-value = 0.000) and pendek in infants aged 7–12 months in the Work Area of UPT
Puskesmas Palapa Bandar Lampung. Suggestions for the Puskesmas to increase efforts to
promote maternal nutrition during pregnancy and exclusive breastfeeding by
distributing leaflets
