Abstrak

ABSTRACT
A clear standard and obedience to standard of operation procedure (SOP)
of nursing in doing nursing treatments are factors to improve and maintain service
qualities. 40% patients in Jenderal Ahmad Yani public hospital complained for
bad services, despite of the fact that it is a non-educational type B hospital under
Metro municipal government with a purpose to provide qualified health services
for public in Metro and its surrounding. The objective of this research was to find
out deep information concerning the conduct of nursing services based on SOP of
nursing in inpatient nursing installation.This research was conducted in inpatient
wards from August to September 2020. This was a qualitative observational
research with interviews. Respondents were 8 active nurses in their duties in
inpatient wards when the research was conducted.The research result showed that
the nurses’ knowledge about nursing SOP were good, and most of them did
nursing services according to procedures guided in the nursing SOP prevailing in
the hospital. Structures and infrastructures were adequate for doing nursing
treatments based on SOP. The cause of unsuccessfultreatments based on nursing
SOP wasa situation in the field where some severer patient conditions requiring
more immediate and urgent treatments. The researcher recommends further
researchers to study the relationships between SOP, communication, and
treatments to patient’s satisfaction level.
